Power BI Developer

About the role

McBride Consulting is seeking a PowerBI Developer for a banking client in Northern VA. The Developer will support the front end of the Microsoft BI stack, partnering closely with a Data Engineer to transform curated data into meaningful insights that drive business decisions. You will build and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
• Work alongside the Data Engineering team within Microsoft Fabric
• Develop AI-enabled reporting experiences using Copilot Studio and Microsoft Fabric capabilities
• Improve reporting performance, governance, and self-service analytics across the business
• Build detailed and coherent reports with heavy data requirements in Excel and Power BI
• Support project management activities and maintain contractual compliance

Requirements

• Experience in data/BI development; financial services or banking client preferred
• Power BI report and dashboard development, including publishing and workspace management
• Data modeling (fact/dimension, star schema) for reporting performance
• DAX for KPIs, measures, and analytical logic
• Strong SQL and data integration across multiple sources (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
• ETL/data transformation to cleanse and standardize data
• Data visualization for both operational and executive audiences
• Payments/ACH domain exposure preferred
• Agile, Scrum
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• Must be a US citizen
