Power BI Developer
About the role
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and dataflows to support agency reporting needs. Analyze data environments and structures to identify and implement required data transformations. Automate data processes to reduce manual data manipulation and reliance on Excel. Convert and document WebFOCUS/Mainframe FOCUS queries into T-SQL for Power BI reporting.
Collaborate with DBAs to design database views and stored procedures. Improve and redevelop existing reports to align with standardized business processes and new financial systems. Integrate data from multiple sources, including IBM DB2 and mainframe flat files. Administer and manage Power BI workspaces and train staff (including Office of the Comptroller) on Power BI usage.
Analyze and recommend improvements to financial data models and reporting frameworks. Ensure adherence to data governance and management best practices. Participate in Scrum/agile software development processes. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders. Adapt to changing project requirements and priorities. Lead and mentor team members as needed.
