Powder Safety Engineer
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of our powder safety program
- Maintain and help improve Vulcan Forms' powder safety framework
- Conduct powder safety audits
- Coordinate with facility safety personnel
- Perform hands-on validation and verification activities
- Interpret and apply NFPA 660 and related standards
- Maintain awareness of the evolving regulatory and standards landscape
- Interact with third-party safety organizations
Requirements
- Hands-on experience handling reactive or combustible metal powders in a manufacturing or R&D environment
- Working knowledge of NFPA 660 and the underlying hazard mechanisms of metal dust fires and explosions
- Experience specifying or evaluating powder handling equipment
- Comfort working in an active production environment
- Experience with metal AM systems
- Familiarity with industrial hygiene sampling and exposure assessment for metal dusts
- Background in regulated manufacturing environments
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in powder handling or safety engineering
Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of NFPA 660 and related safety standards
- Experience with metal additive manufacturing systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The annual base salary range for this position is $137,830.00 to $189,510.00.
