Powder/Press Floater - Weekend Night Shift

Starting rate: $24.00 per hour plus 10% shift differential.

Schedule

5:00 PM – 5:00 AM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Work 36 hours and be paid for 40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the manufacturing of MOV blocks used in high-voltage surge arrestors under direct supervision
• Operate and troubleshoot multiple presses simultaneously
• Precisely weigh and load raw materials into mills
• Perform milling, mixing, screening, and spray-drying operations
• Measure in-process properties and make decisions based on results
• Meet or exceed daily production goals
• Precisely unload pressed blocks from presses onto metal pallets
• Follow all safety rules and lock-out/tag-out regulations for self and others
• Read and comprehend work orders, specification books, and written/verbal instructions
• Perform periodic quality checks for blocks (height, diameter, and visual inspections)
• Participate in the 5S program and perform routine housekeeping to keep the area clean
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED highly preferred
• Ability to perform basic tasks on a PC or tablet
• Strong multitasking skills and attention to detail
• Ability to use, read, and understand analytical instruments such as pH meters and viscometers
• Reliable attendance record
• Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles (walkie, tow lift, forklift)
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

• Continuously work in a hot and humid environment for extended periods
• Remain on feet or walking 90% of the time
• Frequently lift materials up to 60 pounds
• Work in a fast-paced setting
• Frequent ascending and descending of ladders and stairs (12 ft in the air)
• Exposure to loud noises and dusty conditions for extended periods
