Powder Coater Lead

About the role

Position: Powder Coat Lead at Cannon Industries, a global company headquartered in Rochester, New York, specializing in sheet metal and custom weld fabrication for contract manufacturing. Cannon Industries maintains high quality standards, holds ISO:9002, ISO:14001, and TS:16949 certifications, and operates a drug, smoke, and alcohol‑free environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate five‑stage washer, dryer, bake over, and powder coating equipment.
• Perform required prep work.
• Work closely with the Plant Supervisor and other team members to accomplish tasks and goals.
• Oversee the work of all powder coaters and hangers.

Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Team player attitude that promotes commitment, reliability and follow through
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Proven record of strong leadership and motivational skills coupled with sound decision making capabilities
• Ability to resolve problems using logical, systematic and sequential approaches
• Ability to delegate responsibility and to work with others while coaching and developing their capabilities
• Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental requirements in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Experience in the utilization of lean manufacturing practices and ISO/TS Quality Systems
• One year of powder coating experience preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
