Poultry Vaccination Technician II

About the role

This role plays a critical part in the overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. The crew's primary responsibilities include animal care and welfare of the birds.

Responsibilities

• Collect birds for moving, weighing, and vaccinations
• Work with day-old chicks
• Must be able to work with live animals and the associated environment
• Collect blood samples, band/tag, or remove tags from birds
• Follow Animal Care Standards, Animal Welfare Guidelines, and Bio-Security policies and procedures
• Able to work with chemicals such as detergents, disinfectants, etc.
• Perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained
• Able to be around farm-related smells or odors and loud/noisy environments
• May work up to 6 days a week, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications

• Valid Drivers License
• Willingness to drive crews to jobsites and assist in main job functions
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks
• Ability to perform work that is repetitive in nature
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrists
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50lbs
• Bend and stoop throughout the shift
• Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required
