Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design and implementation of software solutions for ocean-based carbon removal projects.
• Develop and maintain oceanographic models and data assimilation systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex environmental challenges.
• Lead or participate in research projects that require large-scale coordination and innovation.
• Support the development and management of internal and external partnerships.
• Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay at the forefront of ocean science and technology.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Oceanography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Strong understanding of oceanographic principles and data analysis techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for tackling complex environmental issues and contributing to climate change mitigation efforts.

Qualifications

• PhD in Oceanography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Research experience in ocean modeling, data assimilation, or related fields.
• Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques applied to environmental problems.
• Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.

Skills

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Experience with oceanographic data processing and analysis.
• Knowledge of data assimilation techniques and their application to ocean models.
• Experience with machine learning or artificial intelligence techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Location

[C]Worthy is based in Boulder, Colorado, and seeks to build a strong collaborative team. We prefer that employees spend significant time working together in person in our Boulder office, however approval for remote or hybrid work is possible.
