GDIT is seeking a cleared PostgreSQL Database Architect to deliver transformative data solutions for our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO (preference for St. Louis).
About the role
As a PostgreSQL Database Architect, you will analyze, design, develop, implement, and support database infrastructure deployment and management. Your work will help advance the mission by providing insights that turn data into action, ensuring today is safe and tomorrow is smarter.
Responsibilities
- Manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of servers running on one or more operating systems.
- Maintain database integrity and security, configure role-based access control (RBAC), and set up administrative accounts.
- Set up administrator and service accounts.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and procedures.
- Interact with users and evaluate vendor products.
- Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
- Develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
- Provide advice on performance tuning and training to end-users.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
- Evaluate open-source or vendor tools and participate in database migration/special modernization projects.
- Collaborate with developers on schema design, query optimization, and stored procedures.
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- 5+ years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.
- PostgreSQL experience required; Oracle database administration a plus.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent recommended.
- Experience in PostgreSQL administration/tuning, including knowledge and implementation of database high-availability solutions and performance tuning.
- Experience in monitoring, creating, and managing PostgreSQL server agent alerts.
- Experience with database backup, restore, migration, and snapshot technologies/strategies.
- Knowledge of building/maintaining efficient database table structures for both transactional and warehouse data.
- Migration experience with Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Must hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and be able to obtain a TS/SCI + Polygraph.
- US Citizenship required.

Pay
The likely salary range for this position is $112,840 - $142,600, based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
