About the Role

Design, develop, and implement relational and non-relational databases, data lakes, and cloud-based data platforms, primarily in Azure. Lead technical initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders across various divisions and organizational levels to architect and manage enterprise data solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and manage enterprise data solutions using Azure services such as Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks.
  • Develop and implement data transformation and cloud infrastructure integration solutions.
  • Utilize CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub) and Agile project tracking tools (Jira) for efficient project delivery.
  • Code, test, and deploy data loading scripts and programs using Azure data utilities.
  • Mentor team members on database technologies, cloud tools, and best practices.
  • Administer backup, recovery, security, and access controls, including role-based access, encryption, and network security.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance using tools like Azure Monitor, SQL Analytics, and Query Performance Insight.
  • Manage and support Oracle databases and Teradata Data Warehouse environments as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of data concepts, modeling, schema design, and indexing strategies for optimal database performance.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and support continuous improvement in data architecture and management.
  • Stay current with cloud computing concepts and emerging Azure technologies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Expertise in designing, developing, and implementing relational and non-relational databases, data lakes, and cloud-based data platforms (primarily Azure).
  • Proficiency with Azure services: Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub) and Agile project tracking tools (Jira).
  • Knowledge of data concepts, modeling, schema design, and indexing strategies.
  • Experience administering backup, recovery, security, and access controls for databases.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, SQL Analytics, Query Performance Insight).
  • Experience with Oracle databases and Teradata Data Warehouse environments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
