About the Role

The Neutrino Group at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a postdoctoral research position. The successful candidate will contribute to hardware development, software development, and data analysis within the DUNE and NOvA experiments. The candidate will work primarily with Professor Bian.

Responsibilities

  • Construction and assembly of DUNE’s LAr purity-monitoring system
  • DUNE cold-electronics testing and assembly
  • R&D for future neutrino detectors
  • Experience with LArTPC technology and SiPM-based detectors preferred
  • Contribute to AI/ML efforts as part of the group’s research program
  • Analyze early DUNE data and the full data-set of the NOvA experiment
  • Ability to travel to Fermilab, CERN, and SURF

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Experimental Particle Physics or a related field

Requirements

  • Basic qualifications (required at time of application): Ph.D. in Physics or a related field

Skills

  • Experience with LArTPC technology and SiPM-based detectors
  • Knowledge of AI/ML techniques
  • Ability to analyze large datasets
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, C++)
