About the Role
The Dr. Zhiheng He Lab in the Department of Immunology and Immune Therapeutics at the Keck School of Medicine of USC is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate to join a new, creative, and dynamic research team. The lab focuses on studying the roles of T lymphocytes during autoimmunity and infection.
Responsibilities
- Independently undertake research in the relevant discipline area using appropriate methods and techniques.
- Produce research reports and/or publications as required by the funding body or for dissemination to the wider academic community.
- Collaborate with internal research colleagues and support staff, and actively develop external contacts and networks relevant to the project and future funding opportunities.
- Provide guidance and support to students associated with the project.
- Attend, contribute to, and where necessary lead relevant meetings.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes such as Health and Safety guidelines by all research team members.
- Take responsibility for planning and developing research methods and techniques within the framework of the research program.
- Contribute to relevant teaching activities within the department.
- Undertake any other duties relevant to the program of research.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (must be completed satisfactorily; a copy of the doctoral diploma or certification is required).
- If the doctoral candidate has not yet obtained a degree, evidence that a thesis has been approved and a documented indication of the expected graduation date are required.
- 0-1 year of experience.
- Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures, and analysis methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with murine models and flow cytometry.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals in immunology or a related field.
Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $70,304.04 - $73,480. Offers consider factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal/state/local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, and external market and organizational considerations.
