Postdoctoral Scholar-Fixed Term
About the role
The Biomechanics Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on computational modeling development for brain-cerebrovascular system. The successful candidate will work on and contribute to ongoing research projects that solve problems related to the brain by developing multiscale/multiphysics computational models as well as publish peer-reviewed journal papers. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to help mentor students and write proposals.
Requirements
- PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Computational Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering or closely related field
Qualifications
- Strong background in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, computational mechanics, or equivalent fields
- Strong foundation in numerical methods, especially the finite element method
- Proficient in python and C++ programming language
- Excellent communication and written skills
Special consideration will be given to candidates who are familiar with the open-source finite element library FeNiCS, brain finite element modeling, medical image processing, and machine learning techniques.
Benefits
The successful candidate will receive ample training, collaboration and fellowship application opportunities.
