Postdoctoral Scholar - Chen Group - Materials Science and Engineering
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering, in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, seeks a postdoctoral scholar.
About the role
The final candidate will:
- Develop phase-field models and computer codes of mesoscale structure evolution.
- Study the physics of structural, ferroelectric, electronic, and piezoelectric responses of mesoscale domain structures.
- Assist writing proposals to funding agencies and Penn State seed programs.
- Co-supervise graduate students and undergrad students.
- Prepare manuscripts for publications and research reports to sponsors.
Responsibilities
The final candidate must have a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, or Physics, or other related fields. Experience in engineering or physical sciences backgrounds and at least 5 years of related experience in computational materials research during Ph.D. and prior postdoctoral research is preferred.
