Postdoctoral Scholar - Redwing Group - Materials Science and Engineering
This is a term position; length of the term will be discussed during the interview process. Continuation past the term length discussed will be based on university need, performance, and/or availability of funding.
About the role
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences is seeking a postdoctoral scholar. Rich opportunities will be available for innovative equipment and process development, advanced materials characterization, and deep collaborations with theoretical/computational efforts focused on materials growth.
Responsibilities
- Perform world-leading 2D materials research on synthesis, characterization, layer transfer, and processing
- Present results at technical conferences and prepare manuscripts for submission
- Assist with preparation of reports for research sponsors and scientific outreach to the broader community
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Nanomaterials, Nanotechnology, or a related field by the time of hire
- Experience in characterization and processing of 2D materials
- Experience with layer transfer and characterization of chalcogenide thin films is a plus
- Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team environment
