Postdoctoral Researcher
Join the Entropy for Energy (S4E) Laboratory at Johns Hopkins University, led by PI Corey Oses, as a postdoctoral researcher in data-driven discovery of energy materials. Projects focus on innovating clean hydrogen production, waste-heat conversion, nuclear power, and energy storage.
Requirements
- Doctorate in materials science, physics, chemistry, computer science, or related fields.
- Ability to relocate to and work at Johns Hopkins University, USA.
- Proven track record of first-author publications and presentations; a minimum of three peer-reviewed, first-author publications must be accessible by the S4E team.
- Proven experience with VASP, Quantum ESPRESSO, LAMMPS, or other ab-initio codes.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, and proficiency with Unix systems.
- Ability to lead research projects and collaborate with experimentalists.
- Fundamental understanding of thermodynamics of materials, solid-state physics, inorganic chemistry, and metallurgy at the level of theory/implementation.
- Citizens of China, Russia, North Korea, and Iran are not permitted to participate.

- Machine learning/artificial intelligence
- Database/API development

Pay
The salary range for this position represents the minimum and maximum salaries based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the range. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training, and other relevant considerations.
