About the Role

The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a post-doctoral scholar position in the laboratory of Dr. S. Ahmad Sajjadi MD, PhD. The appointment is for 2 years with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research under the general oversight of a faculty mentor
• Contribute to the academic community by enhancing the research and education programs of the University
• Support NIH R01 grants dedicated to studies of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias in Sajjadi lab and beyond
• Work effectively as part of a team
• Be highly organized and innovative
• Willingness to work in person is a strong advantage

Requirements

• Candidates must possess a PhD by, or prior to the appointment start date
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Previous experience in neuroimaging analysis (MRI +/- PET scan)
• Efficient in working with neuroimaging analysis software packages

Postdoctoral Scholars will conduct research under the general oversight of a faculty mentor and are expected to contribute to the academic community by enhancing the research and education programs of the University. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding and require a minimum appointment of one year. Rank and salary will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for two years, and renewal is based on availability of support.
