About the role
The University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy is recruiting for a post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Pharmacy Practice with Dr. Paola Rosas' laboratory supported by NIH and AHA funding.
Responsibilities
- Design, perform, analyze, and interpret experiments aimed at studying the pathways that lead to heart failure due to stressors such as aging, obesity.
- Support pre-clinical studies in murine models of heart failure and obesity.
- Carry out animal experiments and include echocardiography, pressure-volume measurements, skinned fiber measurements, metabolic phenotyping, biochemistry studies, among others.
- Communicate research results via scientific publications or presentations at national and international conferences.
- Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge or research principles, concepts, and practices and methods.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., PharmD or equivalent doctoral degree with training in the areas of biology, biomedical sciences or a related discipline.
- Displayed proficiency in lab research techniques required.
- Attention to details is essential to support written documentation, present findings, and project report submissions.
