About the role

The Brossier lab focuses on understanding the factors that influence tumorigenesis in the brain, particularly in relation to genetic mutations, neurodevelopmental factors, and environmental exposures. Our research involves studying animal models of low-grade glioma and Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1)-related optic pathway glioma.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a project leading to a first-author publication.
  • Develop expertise in neuroscience, mouse models, and translational research.
  • Assist in grant preparation and reporting.
  • Present research findings both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and mentors to ensure ethical and compliant research practices.
  • Participate in discussions regarding research materials and findings.
  • Engage in collegial interactions with peers and maintain adherence to university policies.

Requirements

A Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in biological sciences or related fields is required, along with experience in mouse handling, primary cell culture, immunohistochemistry, and molecular biology techniques. Programming skills are desired but not required.

Qualifications

  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience in mouse models of pediatric brain tumors, neural stem cell biology, and neurodevelopment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong interest in translational research and scientific writing.
