Postdoctoral Research Associate - Materials Science & Engineering
About the role
This position is required to work closely with UNT faculty colleagues, and researchers at sponsoring agencies on high performance metallic materials. The position would require strong background in microstructure, mechanical properties, understanding of advanced solid state processing of metallic materials. Experience with solid state additive manufacturing of aluminum alloys is essential.
Responsibilities
- Conduct experiments, gather data, document research notes, code and analyze data, interpret data.
- Keep up with historical and latest research data and publications.
- Prepare manuscripts for publications in a timely manner and talks and posters for presentation at group meetings and conferences.
- Assist with reporting of research progress to funding agencies.
- Help in preparing reviews and research proposal writing.
- Stay up to date with all trainings, and federal, state, university and department requirements.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: PhD in Materials Science and Engineering
Preferred Qualifications: Detailed publications on solid state additive manufacturing of aluminum alloys and deformation mechanisms. Excellent skills in relating microstructure to mechanical properties.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and discipline, in accordance with university guidelines and available funding.
