Postdoctoral Research Associate, Infrastructure Monitoring & Assessment

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Developing work-flow processes and coding them to automate processing of multisensory data from air-borne (unpiloted aerial systems) and vehicular mounted sensor systems for determining pavement functional and structural conditions.
  • Identifying pavement field sites for multisensory data collection.
  • Designing laboratory experiments for benchmarking sensor performances.

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience

  • PhD degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or related fields.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Profound in geospatial data processing
  • Python programming experience
  • Knowledge of optical, lidar, and ground penetrating radar sensing systems
  • General understanding of pavements and condition assessment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team setting and be self-motivated

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GIS
  • UAV data and data processing

Other Requirements

  • Established publication record in peer reviewed journals
