The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate I to join the research laboratory of Emmanuel Katsanis, MD. The successful candidate will pursue studies in transplant and tumor immunology within a team focused on research with promising clinical applications.
Responsibilities: • Design, execute, and analyze experiments in cellular immunology, molecular biology, and murine models of disease. • Perform multi-color flow cytometry, ELISA, western blotting, PCR, cell culture, and other standard immunological techniques. • Maintain detailed laboratory records and present findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences. • Assist in the preparation of manuscripts, grant applications, and progress reports. • Supervise and train undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory techniques and safety protocols. • Ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations regarding animal use, biosafety, and laboratory operations. Requirements: • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field. • Strong background in cellular and molecular immunology, with hands-on experience in flow cytometry, ELISA, western blotting, PCR, and cell culture. • Experience with murine models of disease is highly desirable. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to publish research findings. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment. • Commitment to laboratory safety, ethical research practices, and mentoring junior team members. Preferred Qualifications: • Prior postdoctoral experience in transplant immunology, tumor immunology, or a closely related field. • Experience with advanced immunological techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing, CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, or intravital microscopy. • Track record of securing extramural funding or contributing to grant applications. • Experience supervising students or junior researchers in a laboratory setting. --- Here’s the HTML fragment:About the role
