About the role
The Schindler Lab at the Department of Neurology at Washington University School of Medicine is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to high-impact projects focusing on real-world clinical data from the WashU Memory Diagnostic Center (MDC). The MDC evaluates approximately 4,100 unique patients annually, performs 50–60 AD biomarker tests monthly, and provides ATTs to 591 patients (467 Lecanemab, 124 Donanemab) as of April 17, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Develops expertise in real-world clinical data abstraction, curation, and analysis from electronic health records and registries.
- Develops proficiency in career skills, including writing, public speaking, networking, and critical evaluation of scientific literature.
- Presents scientific work both inside and outside the University with excellent oral communication skills.
- Aids in grant preparation and reporting.
- Prepares and submits papers on research.
- Aids in the design of research experiments.
- Evaluates research findings and assists in the reporting of the results.
- Satisfactorily discharges research responsibilities.
- Maintains conformity with ethical standards in research.
- Maintains compliance with good laboratory practice including the maintenance of adequate research records.
- Engages in open and timely discussion with their mentor regarding possession or distribution of material, reagents, or records belonging to their laboratory and any proposed disclosure of findings or techniques privately or in publications.
- Collegial conduct towards co-trainees, staff members, and members of the research group.
- Adheres to all applicable University policies, procedures, and regulations.
Qualifications
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.
