About the role

The Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Control at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Yadav Sapkota. This grant-funded position focuses on pharmacogenomics of long-term toxicities of cancer therapy in childhood cancer survivors. The successful candidate will have immediate access to large-scale whole genome and whole exome sequencing, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, proteomics, and metabolomics data from a well-established cohort with deep longitudinal phenotyping. The role offers extensive training in genetic epidemiology, pharmacogenomics, and computational analysis within a diverse, collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment alongside leaders in cancer survivorship, genetics, stem cell pharmacogenomics, epidemiology, biostatistics, and computational biology. Full access to cutting-edge tools, technologies, and shared core facilities is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Genetic association analyses (whole genome and whole exome sequence associations and polygenic risk scores) for various long-term health outcomes among survivors of European and African ancestries
  • Analyses of multi-omics (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics) and system genetics (e.g., eQTLs regulating molecular responses to cancer therapies in human induced pluripotent stem cells) data to elucidate molecular mechanisms for health outcomes
  • Evaluating health disparities through pharmacogenomics

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent degree in genetics, epidemiology, biostatistics, bioinformatics, or a related quantitative field
  • Strong publication record
  • Strong research interests in genetic epidemiology, pharmacogenomics, statistical genetics, or population genetics with experience in statistical and computational analyses of high-throughput omics data
  • Ability to code in one or more scientific
