Postdoctoral Research Associate - College of Engineering - Department of Chemical Engineering
About the role
The Sevenler research group at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking postdoctoral fellows to work on a translational biomedical research project. This project focuses on developing a microfluidic technology for loading molecules and nanoparticles into red blood cells ex vivo, aiming to leverage red blood cells as a biocompatible drug depot for extended release.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research experiments within the predetermined research scope and methodology of the department and university.
- Document research results for use in project sponsor status reports and publications.
- Aid in the acquisition of supplemental and/or ongoing funding for current and future research projects, travel grants, and/or foundation awards.
- Plan, coordinate, and distribute information for meetings, conferences, and publications.
- Conduct occasional meetings with project sponsor personnel.
Qualifications
- Preferred applicants will have, or be close to completing, a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong candidates will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: microfluidics, instrumentation engineering, nanomaterials, rheology, formulations, and in vitro testing.
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
