Postdoctoral Research Associate - College of Engineering - Electrical and Computer Engineering

Core Responsibilities

• Simulation and design of optical imaging systems and piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers using ray tracing and the finite element method (FEM).
• Implementation of the imaging system; and characterization of these systems in artificial and real tissue.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• PhD required
• Knowledge of optics and optical imaging
• Knowledge of optical coherence tomography concepts
• Basic knowledge of ultrasonic instrumentation and piezoelectrics
• FEM simulations of PZTs and acoustic wave propagation
• CAD to design device layouts
• Packaging of ultrasonic transducers
• Benchtop characterization of optical and ultrasonic systems
• Data analysis

Desired (not Required)

• A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
• Lab automation using MATLAB or Labview
• Printed circuit board design
