We need to output HTML fragment with sections: headings

for sections like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. Only include sections that have real specific content. We must not repeat job title. No Job ID heading. Remove boilerplate, navigation, legal, EEO, etc. Must preserve all substantive info. We need to parse the posting. Key content: Overview: description of role, project, duties. Major Duties/Responsibilities: list of duties. Basic Qualifications: list. Preferred Qualifications: list. Contact for Position: Ben Sulman (email) Special Requirements: PhD time limit, appointment length up to 24 months, potential extension, subject to performance/funding, need three letters of reference, instructions to upload docs, Real ID compliant ID, PIV card requirement, background check, foreign national residency requirement. About ORNL: description of lab, benefits list. Pay: not mentioned explicitly. No pay info. So we should NOT include Pay section. Schedule: not mentioned. No schedule. Benefits: ORNL offers competitive pay and benefits programs, list of benefits. So we can include Benefits section with list. Skills: maybe we can include under Qualifications? The instruction says use headings for Skills if there is content. We have qualifications (basic and preferred). Could combine into Requirements and Qualifications? The headings list includes About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to decide which to use. We have overview (About the role). Responsibilities (Major Duties/Responsibilities). Requirements (Basic Qualifications). Qualifications (Preferred Qualifications). Skills maybe not separate; could embed in Qualifications. But we could still include Skills if we have specific skills like programming in Python, AI/ML, etc. However those are already in qualifications. To avoid duplication, maybe we just use About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Benefits. That's acceptable: we only include sections with real content. We must not include placeholder text like "commensurate with experience". Not present. We must output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown fences. Let's craft:

We need to include contact info? Could be part of About the role or a separate section like Contact. Not in headings list. Could embed in About the role paragraph. Special Requirements: appointment length, etc. Could be part of Requirements or a separate section like Requirements? Might be better to add a section "Requirements" includes both basic qualifications and special requirements? But the heading "Requirements" is for basic qualifications; we could add a paragraph after list for special requirements. Or we could create a section "Appointment Details" but not in allowed headings. Probably better to add a paragraph under Requirements after the list. Similarly, contact info could be a paragraph under About the role. We must preserve all substantive info: include appointment length up to 24 months, potential extension, subject to performance/funding, need three letters of reference, instructions to upload docs, Real ID, PIV card, background check, foreign national residency requirement. Also include that the position will remain open for minimum 5 days, etc. That's substantive. Also include that resumes from third party vendors not accepted. Also include EEO statement? That's boilerplate; we should remove EEO/equal-opportunity/scams. The instruction says remove cookie/navigation/legal/EEO/equal-opportunity/scam-warning boilerplate. So we should drop the EEO statement at end. Also remove "UT-Battelle is an E-Verify employer." That's legal; remove. Also remove "As a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science national laboratory..." that's About ORNL; we can keep that as part of Benefits? Actually About ORNL is descriptive of the lab; could be part of About the role or a separate section? Not in headings list. Could embed in About the role paragraph after overview. We need to preserve all substantive information; the description of ORNL is substantive? It's about the lab; maybe considered boilerplate but it's describing the employer. The instruction says remove legal/EEO etc. Not necessarily remove descriptive about ORNL. It's not boilerplate; it's about the organization. We can keep. But we need to avoid duplication. Let's extract text. Overview paragraph: "The Plant-Soil Interactions Group within the Environmental Sciences Division (ESD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) seeks a postdoctoral researcher in Coastal Landscape analysis and modeling, with a focus on training and application of predictive machine learning tools. This researcher will synthesize regional-scale remote sensing imagery and ecological monitoring data and develop data-driven methods for predicting land loss and ecosystem transitions in wetland-rich landscapes of the Gulf Coast with a focus on coastal Louisiana. This candidate will directly support the Exploring Gulf Region Ecosystem Transitions (EGRET) project, an interdisciplinary and multi-institutional collaboration focused on disturbance-driven ecosystem transitions and their impacts across the U.S. Gulf Coast. EGRET employs an integrated model–experiment (ModEx) approach accelerated by artificial intelligence (AI) to advance predictive understanding of how plant–microbial–soil interactions vary across inundation and salinity gradients to shape ecological, hydrological, and geomorphological responses to abrupt disturbance. A cohort of postdoctoral researchers will be hired across multiple institutions to collaboratively support scientific advances guided by AI/ML, remote sensing, process-based modeling, field observations and experiments, and advanced analytical techniques." That's the overview. Major Duties/Responsibilities list: - Synthesize, harmonize, and analyze large environmental monitoring and remote sensing datasets from coastal Louisiana - Train and apply multimodal and generative AI methods to predict land loss and vegetation change at high spatial resolution - Work closely with remote-sensing scientists, modelers, and empiricists across DOE laboratories and universities to address project objectives. - Present results within the research group and at national and international conferences and publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. - Deliver ORNL’s mission by aligning behaviors, priorities, and interactions with our core values of Impact, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, and Service. Basic Qualifications: - A PhD in Earth science, Ecology, Geography, Environmental Sciences, Geosciences, or a related field completed within the last 5 years or expected to be completed soon. - Expertise in AI/ML methods in an environmental or Earth science context - Experience programming in Python or related languages - A strong record of independent and productive research, as indicated by conference presentations and/or publications in peer-reviewed journals. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a large multidisciplinary team. - Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with AI/ML approaches for spatiotemporal or Earth system data, including generative AI methods. - Expertise in coastal landscape ecology, hydrology, and/or geomorphology. - Experience analyzing large, heterogeneous environmental, geospatial, remote-sensing, or time-series datasets. Contact for Position: Ben Sulman (sulmanbn@ornl.gov) Special Requirements: - Applicants cannot have received their Ph.D. more than five years prior to the date of application and must complete all degree requirements before starting their appointment. - The appointment length will be up to 24 months with the potential for extension. - Initial appointments and extensions are subject to performance and availability of funding. - Please submit three letters of reference when applying to this position. You may upload these directly to your application or have them sent to Postdocrecruitment@ornl.gov with the position title and number referenced in the subject line. - Instructions to upload documents to your candidate profile: Login to your account via jobs.ornl.gov View Profile Under the My Documents section, select Add a Document - For employment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), a Real ID compliant form of identification will be required. - Additionally, ORNL is subject to Department of Energy (DOE) access restrictions.
