Postdoctoral Research Associate - Chemical Biology & Therapuetics
About the role
The Chen Lab at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on the regulation of PXR and CAR, or CYP3A4 and CYP3A5, using chemical probes in biochemical/biophysical, cellular, and animal models. The successful candidate will contribute to or lead efforts in understanding nuclear receptor-regulated transcription networks, enzyme-drug interactions, and designing therapeutic approaches to overcome drug resistance and toxicity.
Responsibilities
- Characterize novel chemical probes (small molecule inhibitors or degraders) for PXR and CAR, or CYP3A4 and CYP3A5
- Contribute to or lead the effort in developing chemical probes, investigating biological mechanisms, and evaluating in vivo efficacy
- Work in a multidisciplinary team comprising biologists, medicinal chemists, and structural biologists
- Organize and prepare manuscripts for publications
- Train on manuscript and grant writing
- (Optional) Prepare and submit grant proposals
Requirements
PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, or related field with strong research background in biochemistry, molecular biology, or medicinal chemistry.
Qualifications
- Experience in biochemical/biophysical, cellular, and animal model studies
- Strong background in chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, or related fields
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Skills
- Experience with biochemical/biophysical assays
- Knowledge of cell culture techniques
- Experience with animal models
- Strong publication record
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
