About the role
The successful applicant will work directly with Prof. Nikolaus Correll within the new Physical AI and Robotics initiative at Notre Dame.
Responsibilities
- Experience with forceful manipulation and control
- Background in tactile sensing and perception
- Hands-on experience designing and building custom robotic hardware
- Strong oral and written communication skills, evidenced by first-author publications in leading robotics venues
- Enthusiasm for professional development and mentoring graduate/undergraduate students
Requirements
- A doctoral degree in robotics, mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field by the start date
- Demonstrated experience in dexterous manipulation, force/torque control, tactile sensing, and custom hardware development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A high level of initiative
