Postdoctoral Research Associate

About the Role

The Post Doctoral Research Associate will design and conduct experiments using advanced research techniques, contribute to the training of graduate students and technicians, and perform independent research in specialized areas related to molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular virology, with a focus on understanding the biology of HIV/AIDS.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute experiments in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and molecular virology.
• Perform complex molecular biology experiments related to HIV/AIDS research.
• Write manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and publications.
• Maintain documentation and records of experimental protocols, laboratory procedures, and results.
• Participate in training graduate students and technicians in biomedical research and molecular biological techniques.
• Design and plan research in consultation with the principal investigator.
• Independently perform research experiments, analyze and interpret results.
• Prepare professional presentations, reports, and publications.
• Engage in collaborative work and coordinate activities with lab members and external collaborators.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or virology.

Skills

• Comprehensive knowledge of research principles, methodology, and procedures in the area of specialty.
• Thorough knowledge of operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Ability to perform experiments in a timely manner.
• Ability to safely handle biohazardous materials.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with others.
