About the role
The appointed individual will engage in research and/or scholarship activities, with the potential to include significant formal instructional responsibilities. This position is viewed as preparatory for a full-time career in academia, industry, government, or the non-profit sector.
Responsibilities
- Cloning, mutagenesis, purification and characterization of proteins
- Creation and characterization of knock-out cell lines and animal models
- Affinity purification studies and mass spectrometry data analysis
- Regular communication and timely response to the Principal Investigator regarding research and operational matters
- Assisting with the daily operations of the laboratory
- Supervision of other laboratory members
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
The appointee must have received a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in a field directly related to the assigned responsibilities, usually recently.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience in protein cloning, mutagenesis, and purification
- Background in cell line and animal model creation and characterization
- Knowledge of affinity purification techniques and mass spectrometry data analysis
- Strong communication and organizational skills
