Job Summary
A new postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Professor Todd Giorgio in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Vanderbilt University (VU).
About the Role
The laboratory of Professor Jennifer Herington (models of preterm birth, Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC)) and an industrial partner (fabrication of drug conjugates) will collaborate on exciting studies that will advance at a rapid pace to characterize the performance of new materials and methods to suppress the uterine contractions that lead to preterm birth.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research on advanced functional biomaterials for reproductive pharmacology
- Collaborate with Professor Jennifer Herington and an industrial partner
- Characterize the performance of new materials and methods to suppress uterine contractions
- Advance research in interdisciplinary areas involving advanced functional materials applied to women's health
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with biomaterials and drug delivery systems
- Strong background in biomedical research
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Qualifications

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Interest in women's health and reproductive pharmacology
