Postdoctoral Fellow - Human Organoids, Gonad Development and Function

Responsibilities

  • Actively involved in the design and execution of complex experimental studies in accordance with project goals and within a specified timeframe.
  • Responsible for maintaining detailed project documentation and laboratory notebooks.
  • Performs laboratory research utilizing specialized experimental protocols.
  • Collections and handles samples and keeps detailed records of experiments.
  • Manage and analyze complex human and mouse datasets.
  • Assists with the preparation of data for presentations at scientific meetings and for publication in journals.
  • Present research findings at major scientific conferences.
  • Contribute to a collaborative lab environment and mentor junior researchers.
  • Investigate the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories to potential inventions and products.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Genetics or Developmental Biology preferred.
  • Minimum of 0-5 years of Postdoctoral experience required.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
    • Knowledge of appropriate scientific area;
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data;
    • Strong publication record, including first-author publications in relevant, peer-reviewed journals that demonstrate expertise in the field;
    • Hands-on experience with embryonic or induced pluripotent stem cell culture and cell line engineering;
    • Hands-on experience with organoid research and tissue engineering;
    • Advances proficiency in cellular and molecular techniques as applied to testes and ovaries, including histology, immunofluorescence, advanced confocal microscopy, western blotting, and DNA/RNA-related analyses;
    • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust Background Check.

Preferred Skills

  • Perfusion bioreactors.
  • Bioprinting.
  • Tissue engineering.
  • Human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC) culture, differentiation and genetic editing.
  • Bioinformatics skills for analyzing ‘omics’ datasets.
