POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP – HUMAN CARDIOVASCULAR AUTONOMIC PHYSIOLOGY

About the role

The University of Calgary is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in Human Cardiovascular Autonomic Physiology. The successful candidate will join Dr. Satish R Raj's laboratory within the Libin Cardiovascular Institute at the Cumming School of Medicine. The focus of the research includes studying physiology and novel treatments in patients with postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), vasovagal syncope, initial orthostatic hypotension, and orthostatic hypotension. The position offers opportunities to work with a dynamic team and access to advanced equipment and resources.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on human autonomic cardiovascular physiology or clinical research related to POTS, vasovagal syncope, and orthostatic hypotension.
• Participate in a supportive scientific environment with access to extensive resources and expertise in cardiovascular autonomic physiology.
• Receive personalized mentorship and training while pursuing novel areas of study.

Requirements

• A PhD degree before the anticipated start date.
• Strong background in human autonomic cardiovascular physiology or clinical research.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in human autonomic cardiovascular physiology or clinical research.
• Interest in studying POTS, vasovagal syncope, and orthostatic hypotension.
• Strong publication record or equivalent experience.
