About the role
A postdoc position is available for the design, synthesis, and electron microscopy characterization of nanomaterials for applications in heterogeneous catalysis and plasmonics. In this federally funded project, the postdoc will collaborate with scientists at other US institutions and National Laboratories to pursue cutting-edge scientific research. The incumbent will have the opportunity to participate in professional development activities according to their professional goals, including grant writing opportunities, seminars and conference attendance.
Responsibilities
- Design, synthesis, and electron microscopy characterization of nanomaterials
- Collaborate with scientists at other US institutions and National Laboratories
- Participate in professional development activities including grant writing, seminars, and conference attendance
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering or related field by the time of starting this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in one of the following areas: nanocrystal synthesis and characterization, electrochemistry, catalysis, or analytical/in-situ electron microscopy
- Creative, analytical approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently
- Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations
Pay
$48,000.00 per year
Schedule
Initial appointment for 12 months, with additional 12-month extension available based on performance
