Postdoctoral Fellow, Work at the Human-AI Frontier

About the role

The University of Texas at Austin, School of Information is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research on the theme of “Work at the Human-AI Frontier.” This position investigates the ethical implications of AI technologies in various societal areas including surveillance and privacy, racial equity, smart cities, misinformation, human-robot interaction, and the future of work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on the ethical implications of AI technologies in society
• Investigate AI’s impact on areas such as surveillance and privacy, racial equity, smart cities, misinformation, human-robot interaction, and the future of work
• Collaborate with faculty and researchers on Good Systems core projects

Requirements

• PhD in Information Studies, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience with AI ethics research
• Strong background in one or more of the following areas: surveillance and privacy, racial equity, smart cities, misinformation, human-robot interaction, or the future of work
