Postdoctoral Fellow - Urology, Dr. Gateno lab

At Houston Methodist Academic Institute, the Postdoctoral Fellow position performs basic research duties under the supervision of a Physician and/or Principal Investigator. This role may involve laboratory work or computer-based research supporting the department's mission.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited medical school or a terminal degree in a related field (a letter from the academic institution certifying completion of all student work may be considered for Postdoctoral Fellow 0 only).

Experience

• Postdoctoral Fellow 0: None
• Postdoctoral Fellow 1: One year of postdoctoral experience
• Postdoctoral Fellow 2: Two years of postdoctoral experience
• Postdoctoral Fellow 3: Three years of postdoctoral experience
• Postdoctoral Fellow 4: Four years of postdoctoral experience

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician in maintaining the functionality and operations of the Principal Investigator’s (PI) laboratory.
• Promotes a positive work environment and leads the team to achieve optimal department results.
• Collaborates with all department members by actively communicating and reporting data.
• Role models effective verbal, non-verbal, and written communication, including active listening and teaching.
• Contributes to improving department scores for employee engagement, such as peer-to-peer accountability.

• Documents research results and writes reports for presentation and/or publication in professional journals and other publications.
