Postdoctoral Fellow - Genitourinary Medical Oncology - Research
About the role
To study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cellular danger response in renal cell carcinoma as well as therapy resistance to chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.
Responsibilities
- Design novel projects and create hypothesis-driven experiments
- Maintain excellent descriptions of experiments performed
- Standardize and validate new methods
- Interpret results
- Enter data obtained from experiments into graphic and statistics programs
- Generate figures after image analysis
- Provide scientific expertise and organizational skills in various research projects involving human subject research
- Carefully coordinate procedures with collaborators
- Perform technical laboratory duties according to general and/or specific plans
- Read, write, and edit manuscripts and reports
- Help with grant writing
Requirements
To be eligible, candidates must have an MD or PhD (within the last 3 years).
- Knowledge of tissue processing for single cell studies, metabolomics, and microbiome studies
- Skills in clinical database management and clinical specimen annotation
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be matched with GU oncology clinical faculty (Dr. Eric Jonasch) and translational faculty (Dr. Xiande Liu).

MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000, depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience. Schedule
This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
