Responsibilities

• Lead research projects investigating neural mechanisms of social cognition, focusing on synaptic plasticity and circuitries underlying social memory.
• Design and independently perform experiments, including social behavioral assays, stereotaxic surgeries, and miniscope recordings.
• Utilize multidisciplinary techniques such as optogenetics, miniscope imaging, slice electrophysiology, and single‑cell transcriptomics.
• Analyze behavioral data with video‑tracking systems (BIOBSERVE) and conduct patch‑clamp electrophysiology.
• Prepare manuscripts and present findings for publication.

Technical Expertise Desired

• Molecular techniques (e.g., single‑cell RNA sequencing).
• Synaptic physiology, including patch‑clamp electrophysiology.
• Behavioral neuroscience with optogenetics or in‑vivo imaging.
• Computational approaches to neural data analysis and modeling.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in neuroscience or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years laboratory experience in neuroscience or a related discipline.

Goals of the Research Project

Identify neural circuitries and synaptic‑plasticity mechanisms that mediate social memory in both adaptive and maladaptive states, and leverage these mechanisms to rescue social‑memory deficits in autism mouse models, advancing therapeutic development.

Pay

Salary range: $72,500 – $80,000 annually (actual salary depends on experience, education, and operational need).
