About the role
The Tsankov lab at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join a vibrant, multidisciplinary team focused on advancing research in medicine and genomics.
Responsibilities
- Process and analyze NGS and other biomedical data using established pipelines.
- Maintain and update established pipelines.
- Develop and benchmark new tools for NGS and single cell data analysis.
- Collaborate with researchers in interpretation of data.
- Teach principles of single-cell biology and spatial data analysis to other trainees.
- Conduct research to develop new methodologies for medical application, analyzing data and presenting findings to the scientific audience and general public.
- Write and publish manuscripts.
- Participate in the preparation and writing of grants.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Biological Sciences, or other relevant quantitative discipline.
- Training/exposure to machine learning, statistical modeling, and NGS genomic analysis.
- Ability to think creatively, work independently and within a team.
- Strong publication record.
- Team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Programming/scripting skills in R, Python/Jupyter, Perl, Unix, LSF etc.
- A genuine love for science and people.

$74,692 Annually
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday.
