The Lab of Darren Moore in the Department of Neurodegenerative Science at Van Andel Institute is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral Fellow to join a collaborative research program focused on the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying Parkinson’s disease.
Responsibilities
- Use or establish biochemical, cell biological and rodent models to investigate the pathogenic mechanisms underlying VPS35 or LRRK2 mutations in familial Parkinson’s disease.
- Employ a multidisciplinary approach in numerous experimental model systems, including primary neurons and astrocytes, human iPSC-derived models, rodents and human brain tissue.
- Elucidate the normal biological function and pathophysiological mechanisms of proteins linked to inherited forms of Parkinson’s disease, with a particular interest in the role and convergence of these proteins in the endolysosomal pathway.
