Postdoctoral Fellow - Islet Biology and Diabetes Research
About the role
Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the lab of Dr. Rupangi Vasavada in the Department of Translational Research and Cellular Therapeutics within the Arthur Riggs-Diabetes and Metabolism Research Institute.
The lab focuses on understanding the pathophysiology of diabetes, assessing the role of extracellular vesicles in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes as well as in aging. The team targets specific biological pathways to enhance beta cell health, testing their effects from bench to bedside to find therapeutics to combat the disease. Research employs a combination of cellular and molecular techniques, mouse models, and patient samples.
