Postdoctoral Fellow (Interdisciplinary / Cyber Security)

Position Summary
Work on interdisciplinary research opportunities focusing on advanced cyber security and communications networks for next-generation industrial control systems, e.g., power grids. Interdisciplinary Research This position is two- or three-year research endeavor to support postdocs whose innovative projects in cybersecurity will be able to integrate domain-knowledge of cyber physical infrastructures in power grids and ensure their reliable and sustainable operations. The project combines cutting-edge cybersecurity and network technologies, e.g., programmable intrusion detection and network infrastructure, with the state-of-the-art reinforcement learning and generative AI, to detect, prevent, and preemptively mitigate intelligent attacker vectors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct research in cybersecurity in cyber-physical systems or Internet-of-things.
- Organize & help lab equipment and experiments.
- Publish & present in competitive conferences and journals.
- Contribute to guiding PhD/Master/undergraduate students.
- Contribute to the development of research proposals.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or closely related areas from English-speaking program.
- Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, computer networks, or artificial intelligence.
- Demonstrated research experience as demonstrated by publication records.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience with Linux/Unix environment, Python, and PyTorch.
- Demonstrated experience with programmable network development, e.g., SDN and P4.
- Must have taken coursework in calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics, and possess experience in mathematical thinking and abstract reasoning.
- Willingness to perform work goes across disciplinary boundaries.
- Demonstrated independence and leadership in research projects.
