The Fredman Laboratory in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Physiology (MCP) at Albany Medical College (AMC) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join a dynamic and collaborative research team focused on the mechanisms governing inflammation, resolution, aging, and cardiovascular disease.
Responsibilities
- Investigate how defective resolution of inflammation contributes to atherosclerosis, aging-related cardiovascular disease, and vascular cognitive impairment using state-of-the-art approaches including lipidomics, single-cell RNA sequencing, advanced imaging, flow cytometry, and genetically engineered mouse models.
- Contribute to understanding how endogenous inflammation-resolution pathways regulate tissue repair and how these pathways can be harnessed therapeutically.
- Participate in a highly interactive scientific environment and receive direct mentorship from Dr. Gabrielle Fredman.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a biomedical science discipline with expertise in biochemistry, cell/molecular biology, and/or immunology.
- Experience with flow cytometry, basic cell culture, immunofluorescence.
- Strong background in bioinformatics and analysis of large-scale omics datasets.
- Experience with mouse models of disease.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Prism, and R.
- Strong communication skills and a demonstrated record of productivity.
Benefits
