Postdoctoral Fellow - Biomedical Engineering

About the role

The Postdoctoral Fellow in Biomedical Engineering will contribute to the lab’s efforts in using tissue-engineering approaches to study cancer-nerve crosstalk and develop combinatorial therapeutics. Responsibilities include establishing 3D tissue-engineered cultures, conducting molecular assays (e.g., omics analyses), performing advanced imaging for volumetric and metabolic profiling, and analyzing and interpreting data. The fellow will also publish research, write federal and foundational grant proposals, and manage multidisciplinary collaborations. Additional duties include training and supervising graduate and undergraduate students, as well as assisting the PI in lab management (e.g., ordering supplies, inventory, equipment maintenance, safety inspections). Regular, reliable attendance and the ability to maintain collegial working relationships are essential.

Responsibilities

• Establish 3D tissue-engineered cultures to model tumor microenvironments.
• Conduct molecular assays, including omics analyses.

Requirements

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, conferred by the start of employment.
• Experience with 3D cell/tissue culture in vitro; preference for work with cancer-nerve crosstalk or tissue-engineered tumor models.
• Proficiency in molecular assays and advanced imaging modalities.
• Strong understanding of laboratory policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Pay

$51,021.00 per year.
