Research Postdoctoral Fellow - Biomedical Engineering
About the Role
The M-Sense Research Group within the new Center for Remote Health Monitoring at Wake Forest University Health Sciences is seeking motivated and enthusiastic researchers to join our interdisciplinary team. Researchers will contribute to ongoing and dynamic research programs focused on empowering patients with digital health technologies, including:
- Developing digital biomarkers of balance and mobility impairment for use as novel endpoints in clinical trials or as a key component of digital therapeutics for fall prevention.
- Identifying effective digital health strategies for helping adults of every age develop and sustain healthy behaviors.
- Detecting the presence of mental health disorders in young children rapidly at the point of care.
- Managing and preventing panic attacks wherever and whenever they occur.
Researchers will also contribute to projects across the research enterprise leveraging digital health technologies and have access to funds to support the development of new research projects. These projects will utilize resources of the Center for Remote Health Monitoring and the scale of the evolving integrated healthcare system, which currently cares for more than seven million patients in Illinois, Georgia, Alabama, Wisconsin, and the Carolinas.
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent degree.
- Experience working with data from wearable devices.
- Experience developing and evaluating signal processing and machine learning algorithms.
- Experience programming in Python.
- Experience publishing scientific manuscripts in high-impact journals.
