About the role
The Aryal lab at Oklahoma State University seeks a motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop and apply advanced multi-omics technologies for studying proteins, lipids, and metabolites in senescence, aging, and neurodegenerative diseases using cell and animal models. The position focuses on understanding the role of biomolecular condensates formed by liquid-liquid phase separation, particularly nuclear bodies in aging and neurodegeneration. The fellow will gain expertise in molecular biology, omics technologies, and translational biomarker discovery while working in a multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine HPLC and mass spectrometry methodologies for protein/peptide characterization and proteomic analysis.
- Investigate the role of biomolecular condensates in aging.
- Engage in collaborative research with academia and industry, including OSU proteomics core facility clients.
Requirements
- PhD in biology, biochemistry, cell/molecular biology, mass spectrometry, proteomics, or related disciplines.
- Experience in proteomics or protein/peptide sample preparation, method development/optimization, including protein isolation, purification, enrichment of modified peptides, and experience with micro/nano scale LC and mass spectrometry.
Employment Conditions
This is an 11-month, temporary, non-tenure track position with an initial one-year term and the possibility of renewal for two additional years based on satisfactory performance. The position is contingent on available funding.
