Postdoctoral Fellow
About the role
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct specialized research on human oligodendrocyte biology, development, and disorders within the Nobuta Lab. Research activities include cellular/molecular, electrophysiological, and informatic analyses of oligodendrocytes and neuron-oligodendrocyte interactions in human tissues, specimens, and cell lines. Additionally, the postdoc fellow may engage in cell culture, cell sorting, and in vivo surgical procedures in mice, as well as iPS cell manipulations. The research aims to produce high-quality publications and presentations of findings to the PI.
Responsibilities
- Conduct independent research on human oligodendrocyte biology, development, and disorders
- Carry out cellular/molecular, electrophysiological, and informatic analyses of oligodendrocytes and neuron-oligodendrocyte interactions
- Engage in cell culture, cell sorting, and in vivo surgical procedures in mice, as well as iPS cell manipulations
- Present research findings to the PI and contribute to the preparation of grant and fellowship applications
Requirements
- Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience, Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related science
- Ph.D. candidates with All But Degree (ABD) will be considered
- Prior experience and productivity in research must be demonstrated
- Experience in cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and biochemical and biophysical analyses is a plus
- Proficiency in spoken and written English

Benefits
This is a grant-funded position contingent on the continued availability of funds to support it.
Pay
Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
