About the role
This is a training position that can be renewed annually, for a maximum of five years, based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.
Responsibilities
- Carry out research in RNA biology and novel reverse transcriptase, with RNA-seq, diagnostic, and genome engineering or structural biology.
- Conduct independent research in RNA biology, RNA analysis, and RNA diagnostic or structural biology using a wide variety of techniques, such as recombinant DNA, biochemical assays, isolation of RNA and DNA, PCR, RT-qPCR, reporter assays, protein expression and purification, in vitro mutagenesis, and RNA sequencing and data analysis or structural biology.
- Provide instruction, assistance and mentoring to graduate students.
- Write manuscripts and assist in the preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts and proposals.
- Make presentations at lab meetings, attend lab meetings and other meetings.
Requirements
- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, structural biology or closely related field.
- PhD must have been received within the past 3 years.

- Outstanding record of research productivity in the above fields.
