JOB DESCRIPTION
The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position and is not expected to be a permanent position.
Essential Job Functions
- Conduct experiments to determine exosomes as mediators of biological clock functions during pregnancy and engineer exosomes for targeted delivery of exosome based drugs.
- Develop new approaches to study exosome function, exosome as a drug delivery vehicle, or exosome cargo as a drug, and conduct cell and molecular biology approaches.
- Study exosomes impact on feto-maternal units using intrauterine organ on chip devices or organoids.
- Be involved in cell biology work, cell line preparation from human placental tissues, and conducting molecular biological experiments using these cells to understand the feto-maternal communication during pregnancy.
Minimum Qualifications
- PhD degree with a research background in extracellular vesicles is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD with 1 year of experience in cell and extracellular vesicle biology approaches.
- Knowledge of organ on a chip and organoids are preferred.
