Job Summary

The successful candidate is expected to take a leadership position in the laboratory, driving a project forward, working largely independently, alongside professional staff collaborators on the Bloomington campus as needed. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of their project, from project design in collaboration with Prof. Giedroc, to execution of experiments, and analysis of all data acquired. The successful candidate will help to co-author manuscripts for publication. This individual will have an opportunity to attend one scientific conference annually to present the results of their project, and to build a professional network in the US.

Basic Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in microbiology, biochemistry, chemical biology or a related discipline, with no postdoctoral experience necessary at the time of appointment.

Required Qualifications

  • The preferred candidate will have experience in all modern microbiological methods, and a strong interest in learning recombinant protein purification and associated biochemical methods, and/or core techniques of bioanalytical chemistry (mass spectrometry) routinely used in the laboratory.
  • The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong outcomes orientation.

Special Instructions

$57,500/year, Postdoctoral Fellow
The initial appointment for this position will be for 12 months. Additional 12-month extensions will be available based on performance.
